Anna Rankin

Director/Physiotherapist

BHSc Phys, PG Dip MSK (AUT), Bradcliff Breathing Practitioner

Anna completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy through AUT in 2020. Anna became a Director at Sportsmed in April 2022.

She is the lead Physiotherapist for the Southland Sharks, lead provider for Academy Southland as well as previously assisting with the 2020 Southern Steel team. Anna is passionate about sport, competing in a variety of sports growing up and currently an avid golfer. Through her experiences with badminton, having represented NZ in the Delhi and Glasgow Commonwealth Games, she knows what it takes to compete at a high level and how frustrating injury setbacks can be. Anna loves the challenge of working with athletes to get them back to the demands of their chosen sport after injury. She has an interest in ACL prevention and rehabilitation and working with overhead athletes. 

Anna is also a certified Bradcliff breathing practitioner with an interest in the musculoskeletal impacts of breathing pattern disorders, as well as utilising breathing and inspiratory muscle training for performance and recovery in high performance sport.
